JEANS COUTURE SPRING-SUMMER 2026 COLLECTION

Versace Jeans Couture Spring-Summer 2026 is inspired by the ‘80s movie Splash! a romantic comedy about a man, who is rescued by a mermaid that follows him to New York City. Similarly to the movie, this season tells the story of two creatures, a man and woman, who navigate the busy Manhattan life from dusk till dawn, while keeping the mermaid’s identity secret, as her legs turn back into a tail.

They are sweet, romantic and effortlessly seductive, enchanting and bewitching.  Everything about this collection conjures images of water. The color palette in aqua, mauve and lilac for women, as well as shades of pearl and the addition of earthy sepia tones for men, recall the colors of the sea and shores.

Design elements on womenswear dresses and skirts include flowy pointed hems and siren-shaped tails on denim styles for dramatic flares. Balloon skirt volumes are full and rounded, mirroring the organic curves of a seashell, while pearl detailing adorns shoulder straps.

Materials feature a translucent quality with a pearlescent sheen, further enhanced by paillette inserts that mimic the whispering sound of the sea as they move. Pleated, scalloped organza trims replicate the hypnotic movement of the waves, while sequin-embellished netting is layered over tailored shoulders and on midi pencil skirt silhouettes, evoking a fisherman’s net. Scuba-inspired sporty pieces include contrast-colored piping on slim fitting jackets and leggings.

In contrast to the bold, often gothic and unexpected nature of the womenswear collection, menswear design elements are sharp, clean, and geometrical. Nevertheless, subtle oceanic influences permeate both lines: airy organza is layered over gabardine jackets in the menswear, subtly echoing the movement of waves, while the introduction of satin duchesse overcoats and jackets in a fluid wave colorway, add a direct aquatic touch. The menswear collection also incorporates a lightweight crinkled-effect fabric that evoke a nautical feel and a stylized Institutional Logo graphic featuring a ‘50s-inspired mermaid.

White and sand stonewashed denim provides balance across the men’s and women’s collections, which are rich with printed themes. Women’s seasonal prints showcase a Mermaid design with mysterious sea creatures, jellyfish in an Aqua depiction of the crystalline ocean floor, and a Water Baroque motif where classic Barocco and acanthus leaves transform into dynamic ocean waves with splashes and foam. For men, prints delve into the Abyss, recalling the deepest ocean, and feature Jellyfish, a striking close-up of the Medusa in its watery realm.
